Hey everyone! Today, I want to chat about something that's become quite the game changer for me. As a woman in her early 40s, I've definitely started noticing some skin-related changes that I'm not entirely thrilled about—think pesky double chin and jowls creeping in, dry and flaky patches, rosacea and even some acne. Alongside this, several new fine lines and wrinkles seem to have settled in around my eyes, lips and forehead. And let's not forget those generously sized pores that seem to have popped up from nowhere! But enough about my troubles, let's talk solutions.
Enter the LUX SKIN® Neck & Face Sculptor. I was initially skeptical about it's efficacy as it seemed wayyyy too good to be true! I read up on its array of functions, like LED Light Therapy, EMS Micro current, Heat Therapy, and Facial Massage—all found in the one nifty little gadget. It's been said to reduce double chins, minimise fine lines, tone your facial contours, boost blood circulation, and cleanse pores of bacteria. Basically, it promises a mini spa treatment right from your home for the teeny tiny price of AU$59. Thanks to its 90-day money-back guarantee, I put my skepticism aside, took the plunge and purchased. What did I have to lose except maybe a few wrinkles or pimples?
LUX SKIN® was much more affordable than other similar brands of microcurrent and led light therapy devices—around half the price, to be specific. I must admit, like so many other products out there that promise the world and don't deliver, I didn't expect it to work at all. With such a low price tag, the words 'you get what you pay for' were swimming around in my mind. They even threw in a second sculptor (which I gifted to my daughter) and gave me a further discount, reducing the cost for each sculptor to around AU$32! At this point I was convinced it was just 'cheap crap', but I held enough curiosity to still give it a go. And boy am I glad I did!
The tool is lightweight, simple to operate, and vibrates when it comes into contact with the skin. It is recommended that you use a serum as an electrical conductor. Being someone who avoids chemicals and artificial ingredients, I initially used natural aloe vera gel (harvested straight from an aloe plant). I moved the tool around my face in an upwards and outwards motion for about 15 minutes, and played around with all 3 coloured light settings. The aloe vera gel seemed to work well, but I've since discovered it works wonders even without any gel or serum on my skin. And I much prefer that as it means less stickiness and less mess to clean up!
After my very first use, I noticed my skin felt smoother than it had in decades. I'm not just talking a slight improvement, I'm talking smoother than a baby's bottom, softer than silk, like touching the fluffiest most perfect cloud! I couldn't believe it! My partner immediately remarked on how rejuvenated and how much younger I looked, and I even caught him sneaking in a session or two for his own forehead wrinkles when he thought I wasn't looking :P
I am absolutely thrilled that I've found this amazing device and I have been using it every day for 2 weeks. Lux Skin recommend 5 minute sessions, 3-4 times a week. I have to be honest, I am a little bit addicted and I tend to run it for 20-30 minutes a day whilst watching TV. About 70% of that time is spent on the red light setting, 25% on the violet light, and 5% on the blue light (see below for more details). It just makes me feel so good, I can't get enough of it.
My skin feels MUCH more hydrated and is so much less flaky, and my pimples and redness have substantially reduced. My pores are visibly smaller, and the smoothness to the touch is absolutley unreal! Even though I still have pimples, I can barely feel the bumps any longer. My fine lines are less obvious too. While I'm seeing an improvement in overall firmness, it hasn't banished my double chin or jowls just yet. But it's still early days, so we will see how it goes.
If you're wondering what tricks this life-changing little tool uses to create its magic, read on:
EMS Micro Current: Assists in enhancing the absorption of skincare products, making your serums and moisturizers far more effective.
Heat Therapy: It encourages blood flow and supplies the skin with essential nutrients, great for repairing damaged tissue.
Blue Light (410-470nm): It’s fantastic for tackling acne as it helps produce oxygen radicals that clear bacteria without harming your skin.
Red Light (620-630nm): Known for its anti-aging benefits, this setting helps boost collagen and elastin, tackling skin conditions like Eczema and Psoriasis. This is my favourite setting! It works with the heat therapy function (see above) and feels like a warm hug for your face.
Violet Light (380-450nm): Aids in reducing inflammation and ramping up skin cell growth, making it another ace for acne treatment. This setting noticeably reduces my redness, although it doesn't seem to last for hours afterwards which I wish it did.
To those ready to try it, I must say the device’s unique design targets problem areas most efficiently. It hasn't completely fixed my issues, but the improvements are very noticeable and I will take all the help I can get! They have a new version 2 sculptor on their website at present, but I am assuming it works the same (if not better) than the previous model. You can use the sculptor comfortably even while lounging on your couch or bed. And the hassle-free USB-C charger means no worrying about replacing batteries or being plugged into the wall with annoying cords.
Just a quick note—I’m not affiliated with LUX SKIN in any way and don’t receive any financial incentives for raving about this tool. I wanted to provide my honest review of the Lux Skin Neck & Face Sculptor, as I'm simply excited to share how it's been helping me navigate my skin concerns, hoping it might do the same for you!
